Membership LevelsRegular (Full) Members - Physicians who pay full dues, have full voting privileges and are eligible to hold office. Associate Members – Physicians who are on active duty in the United States Armed Forces or Public Health Service who pay reduced dues, or non-DO Physicians (i.e. MDs, PhDs). Associate members do not have voting privileges and may not hold office. Out of State Members - DO physicians who do not reside or practice in the state of Virginia. Out of State members do not have voting privileges and may not hold office. Resident-in-Training Members - Physicians who are currently in a Residency or Internship program who pay reduced dues, but do not have voting privileges and may not hold office. Retired Members - Physicians who derive no income from the practice of medicine who have voting privileges but may not hold office. Military/Public Health Members -Physicians who are active military or who work in public health. Honorary Life Members - Physicians who have reached the age of 75 years and have remained a VOMA member in good standing for at least 25 years. Honorary Life Members have voting privileges but are not eligible to hold office. Student Members - Osteopathic Student Physicians enrolled in a COM in Virginia or who are interested in practicing in the state of Virginia may make application for membership and thereby be included in the organizations mailings. |
